National database for Humanitarian Project and Community Development 

Summary

The cooperation between Belun with the Alola Foundation and FONGTIL (Network of database) is to develop national database for humanitarian project and community development. The national database was established in 2002. This database is considered as the mediator of organizations and projects information by accessing all information regarding activities in community development and humanitarian assistance. National database have elaborated and gathered information from the organizations that had established and implemented activities in East Timor. Through the database we are aware on the changes of development that now still running as well as to be more acknowledged of the implementation of the activity run by civil society in East Timor. 

The objective of information of the database is to create relationship and good coordination between organization networking and partners for project development in the community. The database will also help government institutions and civil society to realize good planning related to the national strategic plan that has already been set up. On the other hand, we also use database information to minimize and anticipate the duplication project implementation through the government activities and civil society. This means that the important factor needed is to create coordination network and communication to continually and sustainably in the future.

Belun cooperates and works together with database network of Alola Foundation and FONGTIL, through the network assistance to the program and make impact and generate information that qualifies in line with expectations and vision of database, that all people access information to development and have a good coordination and communication to national development. 

General Database objective

Ensure coordination and communication between civil society actors, international agencies and government bodies in order to support societal security.  

Through the objective database team manage time to find the was a priority to produce indicators at established on database program. 

Objective Strategy

Everyone can access the information of actuality in East Timor to develop community and humanitarian assistance.

The strategy objective of database network is;

*      To maintain the national database project as a bridge of all information accuracy, gather all NGO’s and donors information such as organization        contact directory and project information to support activities and development partners in Timor-Leste.

*      Become an information center for all beneficiaries/community regarding to the existing organization in East Timor.

*      Create project mapping to represent relationship between organizations and community

*      To Strengthening database network team work for technical  capacity and donors relationship


Outcome 

*      National database become an information center for development in East Timor

*      Have a project map in order to represent organizations and community

*      Database Network have technical skill or capacity to develop database information and good relationship with stakeholders

 How to access database information

Database program will provide data or information through:

1.      Organization directory list –active status

2.      Facilitate information about the project and specify sector information according to existing request

3.      Create project mapping through the data project and sectors

4.      Can also access to the database information trough the Belun sites;
